Welcome to Whiskers & Tails Rattery...
We're a small rattery located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We produce healthy, socialized pet rats as well as gerbils and hamsters from time to time. Pictured to the left is Buddy, a young patchwork top-eared male. He's a one of my resident ratties.
All of our animals are pets first. Keeping that in mind, we do not overbreed as that is not in the best interest of the mothers or their offspring. Breeding is always planned in order to produce friendly, healthy babies from friendly, healthy moms and to ensure good homes for the babies.
All of the critters are raised on CareFresh bedding. Adults and babies alike are handled daily and are provided with running wheels, chew toys, hiding places to get away from it all, and healthy, varied diets consisting of hanging water bottles, high-quality lab block, veggies (carrots, peas, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, cooked sweet potato, etc.), fruits (apples, pears, strawberries, canteloupe, peaches, plums, bananas, etc.), grains and pasta, baked chicken, baked fish, scrambled eggs (never raw or fried chicken, fish, or eggs), a high-quality seed mixture from time to time, and occasional treats. Note: It's very important to thoroughly wash all fresh veggies and fruits.
In addition to the rodents we breed, from time to time we do take in rescues. Once we've made sure that they are healthy and friendly, they usually become available for adoption.
All adopted pets must be picked up from us as we do not ship. Depending on your location, delivery may be possible, but there will be a delivery fee assessed prior to delivery (fee determined by location).
